A unique exhibition celebrating the artistic journeys of two visionary creators, Joanna and Donald Sunshine, opens on April 12 at the Floyd Center for the Arts. Titled "Two Artists: One Exhibit, a Retrospective", this special showcase will be available to visitors through July 5 in the Hayloft Gallery.



Joanna Sunshine: Weaving Tradition and Innovation


Joanna’s intricate fiber art reflects her Appalachian heritage, blending traditional loom weaving with contemporary constructions. Her work, inspired by artists like Anni Albers and Magdalena Abakanowicz, invites viewers to experience texture and form in a new light.

Donald Sunshine: Seeing Through Color and Form


As an award-winning architect and painter, Donald’s watercolor abstracts and impressionistic pieces explore perception and reality. His work challenges viewers to see beyond the surface, offering a bold commentary on the world through vivid brushstrokes and abstract forms.

Opening Reception

We welcome the public to the Opening Reception on April 19 from 4-6pm. Come meet the artists, explore their works, and enjoy an evening of creativity and conversation. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available!
