Floyd County High School Art Exhibition 🎨 Hayloft Gallery | December 13 – February 1

Each year, the Floyd Center for the Arts proudly highlights the incredible work of Floyd County’s high school students, and this year is no exception. The Floyd County High School Art Exhibition opens on December 13 in the Hayloft Gallery, featuring over 200 pieces of student artwork. From pen & ink to clay sculpture, this diverse collection spans multiple media and showcases the creative talents of over 95 students. Under the guidance of dedicated art teachers Kimberly Ingram and Aven Tanner, these students have worked for months to bring their artistic visions to life.

This exhibition offers a unique glimpse into the artistic process, with each piece representing hours of hard work, exploration, and personal expression. Visitors will experience a vibrant array of works, from abstract to realistic, showcasing a wide range of techniques and styles.

The opening reception, taking place on Friday, December 13, from 4–6 pm, provides the perfect opportunity to meet the young artists behind the work and celebrate their achievements. It’s a great chance to mingle with the community, enjoy some refreshments, and support the next generation of creative talent.

Blue Mountain School Art Exhibition 🎨 Falcon Gallery | December 13 – February 1

Also opening on December 13 is the Blue Mountain School Art Exhibition at the Falcon Gallery. This unique event highlights the work of students from Blue Mountain School, an educational community in Floyd that blends intellectual development with emotional and creative growth. This exhibition reflects the school’s progressive, contemplative approach to education, with works that emphasize both artistic skill and thoughtful expression.

The art on display in this exhibition comes from students who are encouraged to approach their creative process with mindfulness and an open heart. The result is a collection that is as deeply personal as it is visually striking, offering visitors a chance to connect with the students’ artistic journeys. From painting to sculpture, the exhibition showcases a diverse range of media and creative explorations, all inspired by the school’s holistic approach to education.

The opening reception for this exhibition will also be on Friday, December 13, from 4–6 pm, coinciding with the opening of the Floyd County High School Art Exhibition. This makes it the perfect evening to experience the vibrant art scenes of two local schools, all in one visit!
