The Floyd Living Traditions Festival Returns — Saturday, August 23, 2025!


10 AM – 6 PM | Floyd Center for the Arts



Join us for the third annual Floyd Living Traditions Festival, a celebration of Floyd County’s traditional art and music, honoring the region’s rich cultural heritage through live demonstrations, performances, hands-on workshops, and more!

Presented by the Floyd Center for the Arts in partnership with Handmade Music School. Sponsored by Skyline National Bank, Floyd Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Floored LLC, and Virginia is for Lovers.


Live Demonstrations

Watch nearly 70 artists showcase time-honored Appalachian skills: basketry, chair making, corn husk dolls, broom-making, luthiery, spinning and weaving, blacksmithing, woodworking, pottery, soap making, letterpress, quilting, tintype photography, storytelling, and more.


Performances

Enjoy traditional music on the outdoor stage and interactive song and dance presentations indoors — all curated by Handmade Music School.


Exhibitions

Explore contemporary and historical expressions of Appalachian craft in our gallery spaces.


Workshops

Try your hand at traditional skills in short workshops led by regional artists.

Food & Fun for All Ages
