For the remainder of the year, Afternoon Arts will continue every Thursday to provide unique creative opportunities for your 4-12 year olds! Staff members Leia Wood and Marcie Hancock will be alternating weeks of instruction. Local artist Aven Tanner will take over instruction in January, but here’s a preview of what you can expect for the next two months:

About Afternoon Arts:
The Jacksonville Center currently offers Afternoon Arts every Thursday from 4-5pm for only $3 per class per student. For more than four years our creative youth have been designing and making unique arts projects, led by local teaching artists. This class continues every week, except on holidays. You can register online, call or stop in to register your child. Parent participation is welcome, but not required.
Susan Mead, a sociology professor at Ferrum College, will also be continuing our Cultural Arts program every Monday, from 4-5 pm, leading young minds into a world of diversity through the arts. This class continues every week, except on holidays. You can register online, call or stop in to register your child. Parent participation is welcome, but not required. The class is $3 per student.
