The Floyd Center for the Arts invites our community to free paper flower making workshops on Saturday, March 25. The workshops are being organized by Roanoke College’s Olin Hall Galleries as part of their Paper Blooms Project. Talia Logan, Olin Hall Galleries Director, will lead participants in creating “map roses” during three workshop time frames. Demonstrations start at 10am, 12:30pm and 2pm at the Center. All flowers made will be added to the Paper Blooms Project, a collaborative based exhibition that will be composed of a collection of hand-made paper flowers to create a community garden. This exhibition will be on view at Roanoke College’s Olin Hall Gallery, January to March, 2018.
Participants of all ages are welcome to join any of the three workshop times at the Floyd Center for the Arts (parents, please plan to stay with your children). All materials will be provided. Participants can show up at the workshop time most convenient for them or RSVP online on the Center’s Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/FloydArts/. The Floyd Center for the Arts’ address is 220 Parkway Lane South, Floyd VA. Please call 540-745-2784 or visit www.FloydArtCenter.org for more information.
