Ring in the New Year by showing off your new inspirations! This yearly exhibit is a continuing reflection of the artistic growth within our community. All media welcome. Artwork must have been created within the last year and not previously shown at the Center.  Opening Reception on Saturday, February 18

New Voice

April 7 – June 3, 2017

The vision of the New Voice exhibit is to showcase regional emerging artists, pulled from area colleges and local talent, with enough space to exhibit a body of work while offering the community a unique look into contemporary creativity. This exhibit has become a part of our yearly schedule and we look to showcase new artists each year and encourage developing artists in the community to become involved with this process. New River Biennial 2017 Juried Exhibition

June 3 – July 30, 2017

This exhibition is coordinated by the Floyd Center for the Arts every six years. Held since 1991, the exhibition rotates every two years among The Center, the Blacksburg Regional Art Association and the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley in Pulaski. 2017 marks the 14th time the juried New River Art Biennial has been held.  Opening reception on Saturday, June 17

Curated Photography Exhibition “old Lands, New Visions”

August 11 – October 7, 2017

Curated by Dr. Russ Young, an expert pinhole photographer and the center’s Featured Artist of 2017, has invited internationally known photographers from across the country to exhibit their work in Floyd. The photographers will display a wide range of images from lands around the world. Opening Reception on Saturday, August 19


Themed Exhibition – “For COMMUNITY”

October 13 – November 25, 2017

Communities can be small, large, exclusive or inclusive and everyone is part one or, more likely, many communities. For this exhibition we invite submissions of works of art that express feelings or ideas about community, or are created with or for a community. Opening Reception on Saturday, October 21

High School Art Exhibit

December 8 – January 2018

Each year, Floyd County High School Art students and teachers prepare, hang, and display their artwork in the Hayloft Gallery. This show is a learning experience for students as it allows them to understand the entire process of a professional artist. Opening Reception on Friday, December 8, dependent on the weather.
