Family and the Arts
The Floyd Art Dialogue (FAD) this Friday at the Jacksonville Center for the Arts will be especially child friendly because the topic is about the intersection of family and the arts.
These questions and more will be covered. What role have the arts played in the life of families? Can a family enrich the work of one of its members who is a painter, potter, writer, musician, actor…? Dedication to an art can be quite demanding – how do artists and their families deal with balancing their time, energy, and interests? Can you share stories of your own or do you know any from the lives of famous or not so famous artists, about “Family and the Arts”? Children are welcome!
FAD meets at The JAX once a month for an hour long discussion on selected topics in the arts. Participation is free and everyone is invited – artists, artisans, writers, musicians, gardeners, designers, quilters, non-artists, talkers, listeners, thinkers, makers, and doers of all kinds will be gathering at The JAX on Friday, July 18, 12 noon – 1pm.
