Class Description: Don’t throw that old chair frame away: learn to weave a traditional splint seat and put it back into use. This is a rapid, easily-mastered technique using sturdy rattan reed and a minimum of tools. All levels of students are welcome. Students should bring one or more chair or stool frames in good condition. Stool frames are available from the instructor if requested in advance of the class.

About the Instructor: Dillard Frazier lives in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. Dillard and his wife Pam, began Heritage Arts, a family organization with the goal of preserving the arts of their Appalachian area and heritage. They have made it their goal to be the reservoirs and transmitters of as much of the traditional Appalachian arts and crafts as possible.
