Class Description: Work all day? This week long, evening class, workshop will be a perfect way to relax, but still be productive. All levels welcome at this workshop that will focus on beginning throwing skills and basic hand building techniques. We will practice throwing, measuring and envisioning these pots in our home or as gifts for friends and family. We’ll explore handtools and how the wheel and our imagination create the pots that we want to make and use. Join us, have some fun and try your hand at something new!
Minimum Age: Responsible Young Adult

About the Instructor: Cory Potrafka, a second generation potter, who now lives in Meadows of Dan. In the summer of 2016 he volunteered to become the Center's Ceramic Studio Manager and now works for the Center, helping organize all of the special events and classes. On his off days from the Center, he is also a production potter at the Phelps Studio. Cory also manages the Friday Night Artisan Market in Downtown Floyd and is a talent musician as well.
