Class Description: All levels welcome at this workshop that will focus on beginning throwing skills. We will practice throwing, trimming the foot, and adding additions such as handles and knobs. We’ll explore techniques, handtools and how the wheel and our imagination create the pots that we want to make and use. Join us, have some fun and try your hand at something new!
Minimum Age: Responsible Young Adult

About the Instructor: Cory Potrafka is a second generation potter who now resides in Meadows of Dan, VA. In the summer of 2016 he volunteered to become the Center's Ceramic Studio Manager. He now works for the Center where he continues to manage the clay studio, covers graphical needs and website developement, and helps organize all of the special events and classes. On his off days from the Center he is the production potter at the Phelps Studio. Cory also manages the Friday Night Artisan Market in Downtown Floyd. Learn more at http://www.potrafkapottery.com
