Current Opening – Programming Administrative Assistant

Part Time Position 22 – 30 hours per week


The Floyd Center for the Arts is seeking a Programming Administrative Assistant. This role requires excellent computer skills, customer service and communication skills, close attention to detail and the ability to shift focus and prioritize projects as needed. This position works closely with the Director of Programming to seamlessly coordinate all aspects of gallery and educational programming, as well as all special events at the Center, including, but not limited to, the duties listed below.


  • Maintaining and updating instructor and student database information
  • Spreadsheet creation and management
  • Web site updates and maintenance
  • Create and update class and instructor folders, both hard and digital files
  • Filing paperwork
  • Assisting with the creation and distribution of marketing and promotional materials
  • Working with instructors to start and end classes
  • Maintain studio/classroom spaces
  • Set up, work during, and tear down of events (for instance: receptions, lectures or concerts)
  • Assisting with collection, displaying and distribution of artwork in gallery areas
  • Interact with the general public, instructors and students in-person and via telephone and email
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Good computer skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and/or evenings
  • Must have driver license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in art
  • Experience working with children
  • Social Media and other Marketing Experience
