The Floyd Center for the Arts is once again pleased to welcome several emerging regional artists displaying their work in the Seventh Annual New Voice Exhibit. The public is invited to the Exhibit’s Opening Reception, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 5:00 -7:00 pm, where light refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. This exhibit will remain on display through Saturday, April 6, 2019.
Each year the Center invites regional university art instructors to recommend current and former students who are either just starting along their artistic paths, or who are somehow changing their artistic journey in a significant way. The Center also accepts recommendations from its board members and gallery committee members, in order to include a wide variety of new talent in this exhibit. This year’s referrals came from Radford University, Virginia Tech, Hollins University, Bluefield College and Floyd Center for the Arts Gallery Committee members.
Also on display at the Center through April 6, will be “Sacred Spaces”, photography by Russell young, in the Falcon Gallery and “Blues Hounds and Other Rock and Roll Animals”, acrylic paintings on wooden panels and found objects by Blacksburg artist Ken Pease.
